Medford Square Development On Its Way, Public Meetings Scheduled

The City is holding public meetings for community members to provide feedback on the redevelopment of three City-owned parking lots.

MEDFORD, MA – The City of Medford is moving forward with plans to develop three city-owned parking lots in Medford Square, and is set to hold public meetings for resident input, Mayor Breanna Lungo-Koehn announced in a news release.

“We have the opportunity to transform Medford Square and make it an ideal destination for commercial and residential growth,” said Mayor Lungo-Koehn. “We are thoroughly engaged with the community, our seniors, local businesses and the Chevalier Theatre to ensure that their needs are met and that they are heavily involved with the development process and is a willing partner in our efforts to revitalize the Square. ”

The development is part of the Medford Square Master Plan, a five year plan in the making that aims to “leverage new investment in mixed-use and walkable districts to invigorate vitality, expand access to health and cultural resources, and activate a revitalized downtown,” according to the Plan’s draft executive summary.
