MHS Girls Hoops Bows Out to Lynn English

Season ends after Lady Mustangs lose 68-34.

The 2012-2013 Medford High School girls basketball team's season came to an end Thursday night.

The Lady Mustangs lost their first round match-up at top-seeded Lynn English by a score of 68-34.

MHS, the 16th seed in the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletics Association (MIAA) North Division 1 tournament, had earned the right to play Lynn English by beating 17th-ranked Chelmsford 52-50 earlier this week at home.

Medford girls hoops ended their regular season with a 10-10 record before compiling a 1-1 postseason mark.

Elsewhere, the 18th-ranked Medford girls hockey team will head to Salem State University to face second-ranked Beverly/Danvers on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. in the MIAA Division 1 tournament.
