The following was provided by Mike Cugno: Medford Mustangs boys soccer lost to Masconomet 1-0 Friday morning in a game that went to double overtime. Both teams showed strong attacks and continued to pressure, but both defenses held their lines. No goals would be scored in regulation play. The first period of overtime went by without a score. In the closing minutes of the second overtime period a penalty was called on Medford inside the box, leading to a Masconomet penalty kick, which Chip Sherman scored on. The Mustangs will lose eight seniors this season, leaving some big cleats to be filled.
