Nonprofit Pays Bail For 'Dangerous' Melrose Sex Offender
A Cambridge-based nonprofit paid the $30,000 bail for a Melrose man with a long history of sex crimes.

Tyler Jacquard, 34, is a convicted, Level 3 sex offender who is awaiting trial after being accused of exposing himself to girls as young as 13 at a shopping center in Lynnfield in June. The Massachusetts Bail Fund, which seeks to free "individuals serving pre-trial sentences," paid Jacquard's bail.
Jacquard is described as "dangerous" by officials and has been arraigned more than 20 times on sex offenses. In 2018 he was accused of standing over a sleeping woman in her Endicott College dorm room in Beverly, a crime a prosecutor called, "incredibly disturbing."

New Medford Library To Be Named After Bloomberg Family
Bloomberg Philanthropies and the Medford Public Library Foundation announced Tuesday that the new library will be named after Michael Bloomberg and Marjorie Bloomberg Tiven's parents, who lived in Medford for 65 years. Michael Bloomberg contributed $3 million toward the construction of the library, which is expected to open in fall of 2021.
"The Medford Public Library played such a big role in our community, and in my family, when my sister and I were growing up," Bloomberg said. "Our father was passionate about books and our mother joined one of the library's first reading groups – and she continued returning to the library for clubs and programs throughout her life."
Cyclist Dies After Crash With Tractor Trailer In Harvard Square
A bicyclist died after the driver of a tractor trailer collided with them near Harvard Square Tuesday morning.
A police spokesperson told Patch the crash happened on Massachusetts Avenue near Dunster Street headed toward Johnston Gate. He described the cyclist as an older man. The driver of the truck stayed and is cooperating with police.
A number of people took to social media to lament the tragedy and call for modifications in the area.
No Fans Allowed At Gillette Stadium Through September
Gillette Stadium officials learned Tuesday that fans will not be allowed inside the stadium for any event through at least September.
Officials said the decision was made after consulting with the Massachusetts Reopening Advisory Board.
The temporary ban on fans means the New England Patriots Sept. 13 home opener against the Miami Dolphins and the team's game against the Las Vegas Raiders on Sept. 27 will be played without a home crowd. The decision also cancels crowds for New England Revolution home games on Aug. 20, Aug. 29 and Sept. 2.
Some Details Come Out After Bodies Pulled From Submerged Car In Seaport
After two bodies were pulled from a submerged car in the water in the Seaport last week, state police and the Suffolk County District Attorney's office are asking for the public's help in figuring out what happened.
Authorities found the remains of Tatianna Morales and Djovany Pierre on Friday, Aug. 14 — three days after security cameras in the area of the Black Falcon Cruise Terminal captured a white 2008 Ford Escape crashing through a wooden guardrail around 10:30 p.m. and plummeting into the Reserved Channel.
But, it does not appear to be a cut and dry case, according to District Attorney Rachel Rollins, who said it's not clear yet how the two even knew each other. On Aug. 12, the families of Morales and Pierre both separately filed missing persons reports.
