Ovide “Frenchie” Forcier, 80, Former City of Medford Employee

Ovide A. “Frenchie” Forcier died on Aug. 7 at the age of 80.

He worked for the City of Medford for many years and served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War, according to an obituary on the Gaffey Funeral Home website.

Forcier was the father of MaryAnn and her husband Christian Daoust, John J. and his wife Christine Forcier; grandfather of Kathleen and her husband Jeremy Nixon, Abigail, John F., Madeline, Gabrielle; and great grandfather of Lucus. He was brother of Richard Forcier, Yolanda Bourget and the late Idola Beaudoin. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at the Gaffey Funeral Home, 43 High St. in Medford, on Monday, Aug. 12 at 9 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass of Christian Burial in the Immaculate Conception Church on the Medford Malden line at 10 a.m. Visiting hours are Sunday, Aug. 11 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Interment will be at Oak Grove Cemetery in Medford.
