Park Medford Contract Ends; City Takes Over Parking Operations

Here's what residents should know as the city brings parking operations in-house.

MEDFORD, MA — Parking vendor Park Medford closed its doors on Wednesday, bringing parking operations under the city's control.

Mayor Breanna Lungo-Koehn opted not to renew the vendor's contract and established the Parking Department to oversee operations. This includes all parking permits, kiosks, meters and databases in the city of Medford.

The city will notify residents who need to renew a permit when they may do so at City Hall. This is expected to happen within the next few weeks; however, residents whose permits expire within that time frame will not be subject to enforcement.

The purchase of permits online will not begin until February. More information on that process is expected in the coming days, according to a statement from the city.

Anyone with questions should email parking@medford-ma.gov or call the Parking Department at 781-393-2495.
