Pizza Shop Owner Faces Hefty Pot Charge, Tufts Students Return, Power Back in Medford

A local pizza shop owner faces a drug trafficking charge after police caught him with over $750,000 worth of marijuana, prosecutors said. Nikita Yanakopulos, 34, of Medford was arrested on Boston Street in Everett on Aug. 26 after investigators watched him load boxes full of marijuana into the back of his pick-up truck, according to a press release from district attorney Gerry Leone. Yanakopulos is the owner of Pinky's Famous Pizza on Main Street.

Power Back: Power knocked out by Irene was entirely restored in Medford by Wednesday afternoon, according to National Grid. Just under 100,000 National Grid customers around the state were still without power Wednesday afternoon.

A Clear Forecast: Today through the Labor Day weekend, temperatures are expected to be in the upper 70s to low 80s with partly sunny skies, according to the National Weather Service.
