Police: Man Bit and Punched Woman in Rivers Edge Parking Lot

Malden man faces five charges.

A man faces five charges including kidnapping after he allegedly bit a woman and refused to give back her cell phone.

Arthur Brice, 37 was arrested Monday on the charges, which stem from an incident on April 12 in the parking lot of 100 Rivers Edge Ave. in Medford, according to a police report written by Officer Greg Gianino.

Brice and the victim began to fight in his car, after he picked her up from work in Watertown, according to the report. The alleged victim told police Brice initially refused to let her out of the car before eventually stopping in the Rivers Edge parking lot where they continued to argue.

The argument escalated in the parking lot, where Brice allegedly took the woman's keys and cell phone, punched her in the mouth and bit her hand, the report said.

The woman broke free and ran to Commercial Street in Malden and called police, the report said.

Brice does not have a permanent address, the report said, but had been staying in both Mattapan and Malden. Neither Brice nor the victim lived at Rivers Edge.

He was arrested early Monday morning by Medford police and brought to Somerville District Court for arraignment, where he was released on personal recognizance and scheduled to appear for a hearing in June, according to court filings.

Along with kidnapping, Brice is charged with assault, two counts of larceny and intimidating a witness.
