Snow Day In Medford On Friday, Jan. 7

The Medford Public Schools called its first snow day of the season ahead of Friday's storm.

MEDFORD, MA — The Medford Public Schools has called a snow day on Friday, Jan. 7.

In a message to families, Superintendent Marice Edouard-Vincent said all schools and administrative offices will be closed, and extracurricular activities will be canceled.

It's Medford's first snow day of the season. The area is expected to get 6-8 inches of snow and is under a winter storm warning, according to the National Weather Service.

The city of Medford has already declared a snow emergency, implementing parking restrictions at 2 a.m. Friday, and delaying trash and recycling pickup for the rest of the week.
