This Week: Remembering 9/11
Patch will have a series of stories, video and photos remembering Sept. 11, 2001, this week.

Each day this week, Patch will have a piece of content that reflects upon the Sept. 11 attacks ten years later.
In the photo to the right is Nick Tucci, a history teacher at Medford High, who spoke to us about how he teaches 9/11.
“When I first started teaching, a lot of my students were a lot more aware of the events of 9/11; they lived through it a little more than the students I’m now teaching," Tucci said. "The students now, you can do the math, they were pretty young.”

The textbooks he uses don't have any entries on 9/11, so Tucci uses videos on the web, his personal memories and the experiences of others to teach students about the attacks and the aftermath.
“Its one of my favorite days to teach, I feel it’s my duty to help them remember," Tucci said. “This year is going to be interesting, 10 years later, how have our lives been changed?”

Return to Medford Patch Wednesday for video of our interview with Tucci. Tomorrow we'll have a Q and A with a Tufts religion professor on Muslims and 9/11.
