Transportation Challenges Likely As Medford Schools Return

Superintendent Marice Edouard-Vincent said the district's bus vendor is addressing staffing challenges related to COVID-19 protocols.

MEDFORD, MA — The Medford Public Schools could see some transportation delays in the first weeks back from holiday break.

Superintendent Marice Edouard-Vincent said Monday the district's bus vendor, Eastern Bus Co., is working to address staffing challenges related to COVID-19 protocols.

"All parents and caregivers should be aware of potential delays in bus routes for at least this week and potentially over the next couple of weeks," Edouard-Vincent said.

The vendor has suffered from staffing shortages throughout the school year, which has at times led to delays in bus routes before and after school.

Edouard-Vincent said the district will try to give families advance notice of bus delays whenever possible.
