A family of Haitian immigrants has sued the Medford Housing Authority, claiming it didn't listen to warnings about a racist neighbor who eventually burned down their unit and gave white tenants preferential treatment. Following the fire, the family says they were told by housing authority officials to find a homeless shelter to stay.

A Medford man faces a lewdness charge after he allegedly pulled down his pants on Brattle Street in Cambridge. Brendan Coye, 35, of 17 Harrison Road pulled down his pants and opened his jacket to expose his genitals to a crowd of people on Brattle Street in Harvard Square shortly before 10 p.m. on Nov. 11, according to a Cambridge police report.

When Alex Pagliaro smelled smoke early in the morning on Oct. 9, he didn't hesitate.  The 15-year-old woke his grandfather, called the fire department and got pets out of his family's home on Trout Avenue.
