182nd Set to Arrive in Melrose Wednesday Morning
The National Guard infantry regiment is returning home after a year-long deployment to Afghanistan.

A post on the 182nd's Facebook Page signed by Maj. Eric DiNoto, battalion executive officer, said that the HHC company of the 182nd is scheduled to arrive at Memorial Hall between 7-7:30 a.m.
Fox 25 reported that the 700 troops were due to land at Logan Airport this morning.

City officials are working on plans to welcome the troops home. Officer Ryan McLane said in an email that the company's arrival time is subject to change, but the tentative plan is to have police escort them into the city, have fire engines out in front of Memorial Hall and gather any interested residents in front of the hall.
