The former Executive Director of Friends of the Fells endorses Paul Brodeur for mayor of Melrose.

(Paul Brodeur For Mayor)

The following was submitted by Ron Morin, former Executive Director of Friends of the Fells. Let your voice be heard by signing up for a free account and posting.

My name is Ron Morin. I am the former Executive Director of Friends of the Fells, the organization dedicated to the protection and support of the Middlesex Fells Reservation, one of the truly great urban parks in our country.

The Friends of the Fells is a private non-profit organization that does not endorse candidates. However, I as a former employee and Executive Director am free to express my own point of view.

Paul Brodeur has been a tireless advocate of the Friends of the Fells, serving as a member of the organization's advisory council along with Congresswoman Katherine Clark. When a private hockey rink was proposed to be built and encroach on our parkland Paul was there to help stop it. For over 25 years the Friends of the Fells has been there to serve and protect your park and Paul Brodeur has stood with us time and time again.

Melrose is fortunate to have the Middlesex Fells Reservation right in its backyard. Along with Mt. Hood Memorial Park, Sewall Woods Park and Pine Banks Park, your community is blessed with natural resources.

Paul cares about the environment. As mayor, his priority will be to promote waste reduction and recycling and chart Melrose's path to carbon neutrality by 2050. And that's important, not only for our natural resources, but for our children's future too.

I am pleased to express my own personal view and join with organizations such as the Environmental League of Massachusetts in supporting Paul. As mayor, he will be an excellent steward of our parklands and I encourage everyone to consider supporting Paul Brodeur for Mayor of Melrose.

Sincerely,

Ron Morin
