MELROSE, MA — Vietnam War-era veterans from Melrose, Wakefield and Saugus may receive a welcome home celebration on Thursday on Main Street in Melrose.

City officials need the public’s help to make that happen, though, the city said on Monday.

A total of 42 veterans are currently on a four-day tour of Washington D.C. through the Roll to Washington Committee. The committee funds all-expenses-paid tours of Washington D.C. for Vietnam-era veterans. The tours include a visit to the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, as noted in a recent city announcement.
