The following was submitted by Ward 6 Councilor-elect Jen Grigoraitis:

Thank you to the voters of Ward 6! It is an honor to have the opportunity to serve the residents and small businesses of Ward 6 as your next City Councilor. Thank you to my husband, Bill, our children, my parents and the many friends and neighbors who volunteered on this
campaign. I could not have done this without your support and commitment.

I would also like to thank my opponent and his supporters; offering voters a choice is the linchpin of our democratic process. Thank you to all the candidates who put themselves on the ballot during this election season. It has been a pleasure to get to know you all over the course of our campaigns and I look forward to working with our new mayor and my fellow Council members.

Running for local office and serving your community is an essential act of public service. I would like to thank Peter Mortimer for his many years’ of service to Ward 6; I look forward to building on his work and that of all the outgoing Council members and Mayor Infurna.

Thank you for allowing me to be your voice and your advocate. It is a great responsibility and one I take very seriously. I look forward to getting to work on behalf of Ward 6 and Melrose!
