Melrose Man Charged With Assault and Battery
At 1:31 p.m. March 23, Melrose Police responded to Mount Vernon Street for a report of suspicious activity. Samuel Lewis, 21, of 3 Mount Vernon St. #3, Melrose, was arrested and charged with assault and battery. A report was taken.

Lynn Resident Summonsed on Multiple Charges in Melrose
At 3:53 a.m. March 22, police conducted a motor vehicle stop in the Main Street and Lynn Fells Parkway area. A 48-year-old Lynn resident was summonsed on charges of unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and motor vehicle lights violation.
March 22
10:54 a.m.: Police called to Sargent Street for a report of vandalism. A report was taken.
11:57 a.m.: Police responded to Lynde Avenue on a report of a motor vehicle accident. A report was taken.
2:07 p.m.: Police called to Green Street for a report of a minor motor vehicle accident. Police assisted with insurance paperwork exchange.
7:58 p.m.: Police responded to the intersection of Lebanon and Upham Streets for a report of a motor vehicle accident. A report was taken.
March 23
9:44 p.m.: Police called to a Pleasant Street apartment for a report of a past breaking and entering. A report was taken.
March 24
5:16 a.m.: Police received multiple calls about a single-car crash into a pole in the area of Sylvan Street and Mount Vernon Avenue. Melrose Fire and EMS also responded, and the vehicle was towed, according to police. The female driver declined medical treatment, according to police. A report was taken.
8:45 p.m.: Police responded to Lynn Fells Parkway for a report of possible credit card fraud. A report was taken.
