Melrose Police Conducting Active Shooter Training At Elementary School

A large police presence can be seen outside the school for the duration of the session.

MELROSE, MA — The police department announced it is currently conducting active shooter training at the Beebe School on 263 West Foster St.

The annual procedure began on Monday, beginning each day at 4 p.m. On the training’s final two days of Friday, Oct. 24 and Saturday, Oct. 25, training will begin at 8 a.m. According to the department, a large police presence will be seen at the elementary school while the training is ongoing. In addition, no live ammunition will be used by officers during the sessions.
