Thousands In Melrose Without Power Until Perhaps Weekend
Just when it looked like power had been restored across the city, more than 2,700 lost it again late Thursday night.

MELROSE, MA — A chunk of the city could be without power until Saturday night after a late-night outage plunged residents back into darkness. National Grid said more than 2,700 customers in Melrose are without power — and the estimated time of restoration is Saturday night at 11 p.m.
The outage is impacting "Vinton, parts of West Wyoming, Perkins , Crescent Ave, Baldwin Ave, Sewall Woods, and West Foster," according to the Department of Public Works. DPW also said the outage is National Grid's "number one priority."
That could be hopeful thinking. More than 95,000 were still without power across Massachusetts as of 11 p.m. Thursday, and National Grid said power wouldn't be fully restored to all their customers until late Saturday night.
