MELROSE, MA - For the sixth year in a row, Chris Cinella of Edward Jones Investments is collecting school supplies for Melrose children. The school supplies will be distributed to families referred by the Red Cross and the Melrose Emergency Fund.
Donations of backpacks, lunchboxes, notebooks, pens, crayons, markers, paper, child-safe scissors, binders, glue sticks, staplers, folders, calculators, construction paper, hand sanitizer, tissues, dry erase boards, markers, erasers, and other classroom supplies are all welcome, a release said. They may be dropped off at the Edward Jones office, 502 Main Street, Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. from July 11 through August 19.
“Education is a priority for Melrose families,” said Mayor Rob Dolan in a statement. "And it is important that all our children start the school year with all the they need. Thanks to Chris’s efforts, and the generosity of the citizens and businesspeople of Melrose, we can help make that goal a reality.”
“The children of today are the global citizens of tomorrow, and education is more important now than ever before,” said Cinella. “Our goal is to ensure that all the children in our community are equipped with the tools they need to learn.”
