Melrose Temple to Have Shabbat of Healing for Boston Marathon Victims

The Temple Beth Shalom of Melrose will hold a special Shabbat Service of Healing at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

The Temple Beth Shalom of Melrose will hold a special Shabbat Service of Healing at 7:30 p.m. on Fridiay, according to a Melrose Patch blog post.

"The entire community is invited to take part as we come together to deal with the aftermath of the Boston Marathon bombing, and pray for the healing for all who sustained injuries," wrote Arnie Fertig.

The Temple is located at 21 E. Foster St.

Meanwhile, the First Baptist Church, 561 Main St., plans to focus their 11 a.m. religious service on Sunday around the Boston Marathon tragedy, according to a representative of the church.

Melrose Patch attempted to contact all religious institutions in the community and left messages when possible, but no information was received about additional vigils or services related to the Boston Marathon tragedy.

As of Tuesday, the city of Melrose had no plans for a Boston Marathon-related event, according to an email from Mayor Rob Dolan's office at City Hall.
