Police Seek Man Who Robbed Franklin Street Restaurant

Police in Stoneham are asking for the public’s help with locating a man who broke into a Franklin Street restaurant early Sunday morning and stole money, Chief James McIntyre reports.

Police were called to the unidentified restaurant and received surveillance footage from the restaurant’s owner. The suspect’s face is clearly visible in the footage, aiding the investigation.

Franklin Street runs from Stoneham into Melrose. Police say the suspect could be anywhere in the area.

The robber stole an undetermined amount of cash from the restaurant, police say.

He was wearing sneakers, cargo shorts, a baseball cap, and a hooded sweatshirt, stole an undetermined amount of cash from the restaurant.

He is believed to have been driving a small, lightly-colored four-door sedan that was spotted in a parking lot next door.
