Two Melrose Firefighters Receive Promotions

Kevin Nobile and Peter Grant received promotions within the Melrose Police Department at a ceremony at City Hall on Wednesday. 

During the ceremony, Mayor Rob Dolan swore in the two firefighters to their new positons. Lieutenant Kevin Nobile was promoted to Captain and Firefighter G. Peter Grant was promoted to Fire Lieutenant, according to a press release from the Melrose Fire Department.

“These promotions from within show the strength of our Fire Department,” said Dolan in a press release. “Chief Leary and his Department have shown a strong commitment to our emergency medical service, which has become a cornerstone of our department.”

Kevin Nobile's promotion came only four years after his initial appointment, marking the quickest rise to captain in the history of the department, the release said.

G. Peter Grant has been an EMT since 1997 and a paramedic since 2001, and he has been a Hazardous Material Technician since June 2011.
