5 Things You Need to Know Today: May 10

All newly elected Town Meeting members are invited to take part in training early next week. The Annual Town Meeting in Milford is May 20.

Our weekday morning column, 5 Things You Need to Know, provides you with information that can help you plan your day and give you some fodder for water cooler conversations.

1. Relay for Life steps off this afternoon at the Milford High School track. The groups of volunteers will walk continuously overnight, into Saturday morning, to raise money for cancer treatment and reasearch.

2. A meeting has been scheduled at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday for all newly elected Milford Town Meeting members. Conducted by moderator Michael Noferi, the session is designed to introduce the new members to the format and rules of the meeting. Annual Town Meeting is May 20.

3. Milford TV is filming government meetings and uploading them to its YouTube channel. New to the cycle this week: Wednesday's Finance Committee meeting.

5. Save the date:  whose home burned in a fire April 7, will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. June 5.
