5 Things You Need to Know Today: May 20

Our weekday morning column, 5 Things You Need to Know, provides you with information that can help you plan your day and give you some fodder for water cooler conversations.

1. Foxwoods Massachusetts has opened its storefront space at 88 Main St. The space will be open for people who have questions about the company's application for the resort casino in Milford. It is in the space formerly occupied by Nik's Barber Shop.

2. Milford's Annual Town Meeting is tonight at 7:30 p.m. Monday in the upper chamber at Milford Town Hall. The warrant is on the town website, and attached to this article as a PDF. Newly elected town meeting members, who need to be sworn in should plan on attending by 7:15 p.m.

3. Milford's Planning Board will meet Tuesday. The meeting is at 7 p.m. in Town Hall.

4. An introduction to Naturopathy will be at Hopedale Unitarian Parish at 7 p.m. Monday. Dr. Paul Giordano will discuss how it aids in the prevention of disease, can encourage the body’s inherent healing abilities, and supports natural
treatment of the whole person. 

5. A blood drive for Children's Hospital Boston, sponsored by Charles River Bank, the Milford Rotary, Milford Junior Women's Club and the Milford Lions, will be held from 9 a.m to 3 p.m. May 25, at Kohl's. Positive ID will be required.
