Demolition Begins of Main Street Buildings
Several older storefronts and houses between Dunkin Donuts and the municipal lot across from Beach Street will be torn down over the next few days.
Six vacant structures are being torn down this week on Main Street in Milford, to make way for what the property owner hopes will become new commercial development.
A demolition permit for the work was issued this week. The razing began on Wednesday, with two smaller apartment houses near the Milford Upper Charles Trail coming down.
Work continued Thursday, with heavy equipment being used to excavate a cement basement and foundation. Trees have already been removed from the site.

The work is being conducted by Lanzetta, which is hauling away debris as it comes down.
