Water Rate Increase Public Hearing

The state Department of Public Utilities will hold a public hearing on the upper floor of Milford Town Hall to take comments from customers of the Milford Water Co. on a proposed rate hike.

The request before the DPU is for an 83 percent, across-the-board, increase. This would affect business, government, industrial and residential customers of the private utility company.

People will not be questioned by the DPU staff, but will be asked to make public comments about the increase.

The meeting is expected to be broadcast by Milford TV.
