Massachusetts' unemployment rate dropped to 4.2 percent in April, down 0.2 percent since March with the addition of nearly 14,000 jobs.
The state's Executive Office of Labor and Workforce Development shared preliminary job estimates from the federal Bureau of Labor Statistics Thursday.
Those early numbers, which are subject to revision, say the state added 13,900 jobs in April. That's more than double the revised estimate for March, which was a gain of 6,600 jobs.
