Memorial Day Parade Details

The Memorial Day Parade will begin at 10 a.m. Monday.

Editor's Note: the following details were released by the Milford Veterans Services Department.

The annual Memorial Day Parade will be held on Monday, May 27, 2013.  Assembly of divisions will take place at 9:30 a.m. in the Stop & Shop parking lot adjacent to the Ninety-Nine Restaurant. Step-off will be at 10 a.m.

The parade will be lead by Grand Marshal Ralph Steeves, a WW II veteran. He will lead the parade up E. Main Street to the Calzone Memorial Park where a brief ceremony will take place. It will then continue up Main Street to Draper Memorial Park where a speaking program will take place. Master of ceremonies for the event will be Joseph Lopes, retired Army Colonel. The Milford High School student selected to read Logan’s Address is Eric Miller. Provisions have been made by the Milford Commission on Disability to have a portable ramp available for easy access to the WW I monument.

The four divisions will be comprised of local and state officials along with members of the various service organizations and Fire and Police personnel. Both the Milford High School and Middle School bands will participate along with the various boy and child scout troops accompanied by their leaders and parents.
