Milford Driver Accused Of Crashing Into Sacred Heart Church Fence, Driving Away

The driver was unlicensed, according to police.

MILFORD, MA — A Milford man was accused of crashing into a church fence and driving away, according to police.

A Milford police officer witnessed a Black Ford Fusion speeding on East Main Street shortly after 2 a.m. on Sunday. The vehicle then spun out of control in front of Sacred Heart Church, jumped the curb and struck the iron fence along the church's parking lot.

The driver, later identified as 40-year-old Jose Vallejo, left the scene of the accident before finally stopping on Hayward Street, according to police.

Police said Vallejo is facing a number of charges, including unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, leaving the scene of property damage, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, and speeding at a rate greater than was reasonable.
