MILFORD, MA — A Milford man has been arrested on a host of charges after he ran down a woman with his car along Route 85 Thursday night in an apparent road rage incident, according to Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan.

According to the DA, Ryan Sweatt, 36, was arrested on charges of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon causing bodily injury, operating to endanger and a marked lanes violation. The woman was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries.

Sweatt and a group in another vehicle got into a road rage incident that led to the people in the other vehicle stopping and getting out. That's when Sweatt drove at the 26-year-old woman, according to Ryan.

"At some point, some of the occupants of the other vehicle, including the victim, exited the car. Sweatt subsequently made a U-turn at a high rate of speed and struck the victim in the roadway," the DA said in a news release.

Sweatt was set to be arraigned Friday morning at District Court in Framingham.
