MILFORD, MA — A new stop along the Upper Charles Trail in Milford is coming soon.

The Milford Parks Department is planning to build a new picnic pavilion along Louisa Lake, just steps off the Upper Charles Trail.

The town submitted plans to the Milford Planning Board recently, although the Conservation Commission has already given a green light to the project.

The new pavilion is part of a larger reshaping of the town land along the trail adjacent to Louisa Lake, including a 9-hole disc golf course on the east side of the trail, and a forthcoming renovation of the parking lot along Dilla Street. The lot will be expanded from 53 to 84 spaces, plus four accessible spaces.

The new pavilion will measure 20 by 40 feet and will be located about 240 feet north of the Dilla Street parking lot. The pavilion will sit between the water and the Upper Charles Trail near existing picnic tables, according to plans submitted to the Planning Board.
