Milford Police Arrest 3 After Traffic Stop Reveals Gun, Ammo

The three men were pulled over along Water Street, leading police to discover the driver's licese was suspended.

MILFORD, MA — Milford police arrested three men on a host of weapons charges following a nighttime traffic stop in the downtown area.

A Milford detective pulled over the men Thursday night near the corner of Mystic Lane and Water Street. Police discovered that the driver, Robert Cronin III, had a suspended license due to a previous OUI charge.

The two passengers, Brett Cronin and Burton Lund, also had active warrants, Milford police reported.

After searching Cronin III's SUV, police found a handgun loaded with hollow point rounds, police said.

Brett Cronin was charged with possession of ammunition without a license, and Lund was charged with carrying a loaded gun without a license, carrying ammunition without a license and carrying a gun without a license, police said.

Cronin III was charged with refusing to identify himself while operating a vehicle, carrying a loaded gun without a license, carrying ammunition without a license, improper storage of a gun, unlicensed operation of a vehicle, driving with a suspended license, an vehicle equipment violation and possession of a gun without a license, Milford police reported.
