Hazmat Team Clears Scene in Milford Where Man Was Found Dead

A hazmat team cleared the scene of an incident in Milford Friday afternoon in which a man was found dead in an apartment on East Main Street, Milford Police said.

Milford police said Friday that the hazmat team had been called in as a precaution due to a “curious substance” that was found at the scene. Crews cleared the scene around 6 p.m. Friday after testing substances came back negative, though police did not elaborate as to the nature of the substance as of Friday afternoon.

The Milford Police Department is investigating the death of the victim, which NECN reported was not believed to be a result of foul play.
