Milford Police On Hand for First Days of School
Officers were available to ensure a safe first week.

The new school year began on Tuesday in Milford, and officers with the Milford Police Department were on hand at the town’s schools to welcome students in a safe and efficient manner.
Officers were present on Tuesday “to ensure a happy, safe and uneventful first week of school for everyone, and to help out with issues that typically occur, such as mixups, lost children, etc.,” police said in a statement.
Police assisted two students who reportedly walked in the wrong direction on their way home Tuesday and became lost. The students then sought for help from a Milford officer for help.

Police said the department has been helping to usher in the school year for nearly 30 years.
