Milford Seniors Walk To Raise $6K For Alzheimer’s Association

MILFORD, MA — A group of Milford senior citizens recently helped raise thousands for Alzheimer’s research by participating in an awareness walk. The local placed in the top 10 of all teams participating in the Foxborough event.

This past fall, Cornerstone at Milford Assisted Living participated in Greater Foxborough’s Walk to End Alzheimer’s. The senior community raised over $6K for the Alzheimer’s Association, ultimately placing 7th in the chapter’s top teams of 2022. The Cornerstone team joined thousands of walkers across the nation in an effort to raise awareness and encourage donations in support of research to fight against the disease.

The Walk to End Alzheimer’s is the world’s largest fundraiser for Alzheimer’s care, support, and research and is hosted by Alzheimer’s Association, which provides educational programs and support to the millions living with Alzheimer’s and dementia, while advancing critical research that ultimately works toward finding a cure.

Cornerstone at Milford brought residents, staff, families and friends together in their fundraising efforts, including fundraising at community events, planning staff competitions and even hosting a “Mini Walk to End Alzheimer’s” right at the Assisted Living community.

Cornerstone at Milford offers seniors Assisted Living as well as a Compass Memory Support Neighborhood on the same campus specializing in Alzheimer’s Care, associated with the Boston University Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center.
