Police Log: Child's Lemonade Stand Stolen, Man Charged with Texting and Driving

Wednesday, Aug. 21

4:53 p.m.: A woman walked in to police headquarters and said her husband had been following her for the past few weeks. They have been separated for several months. She requested a restraining order.

5:02 p.m.: A man was reportedly outside the Comcast building on Central Street, trying to enter through the door. He left before police arrived. He may have left in a car with two kayaks on the roof.

5:31 p.m.: An officer pulled over an Altima on Pearl at State streets. Police arrested Muhammad Ali, 29, of 15 Alfred Road, Apt. E, Milford, on charges of unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and sending or reading text messages while driving.

7:03 p.m.: A caller on Purchase Street told police his daughter's lemonade stand had been stolen from the front of the yard.

8:55 p.m.: A noise complaint came in from Cedar Street. An officer spoke to the people.

9:27 p.m.: A manager at Dairy Queen asked to speak to an officer about improper change given to a customer. The issue had been settled when police arrived.

9:47 p.m.: A caller told police his mother and her boyfriend were having a heated argument and he was afraid it was going to become physical. Police filed a report.

10:11 p.m.: A woman said a man outside her door, on Prospect Heights, was harassing her. Police responded, and the woman refused to come to the door. They spoke to the man and reported back that at that point, there was no problem.

10:21 p.m.: A woman dropped off a license that she found on Spring Street.

Thursday, Aug. 22

10:01 a.m.: A 58-year-old woman was taken to Milford Regional Medical Center from Shaw's Supermarket, after she became sick and disoriented.

10:52 a.m.: Several officers were searching for a suspect on foot in the area of Hannaford's supermarket. The man was last seen walking through the lot with a German shepherd dog. The nature of the offense was not clear from the police log. Police were requesting a K9 officer from the State Police.

11:19 a.m.: A Honda Pilot was repossessed on Prospect Street.

12:14 p.m.: A caller said his neighbor was working on his car on St. John Lane, and making a mess in the road. Police then received a call from the man, telling them never mind. He was told to call back if needed.

2:28 p.m.: A man walked in to police headquarters and said his bike had been stolen from behind Hunan Gourmet.

3:02 p.m.: A caller said a 3-year-old girl was at the corner of School and Pearl streets. An officer reported to Lincoln Street to speak with her parent. An officer was filing a report.

4:33 p.m.: A caller reported his grandchildren's father was harassing his wife.

4:43 p.m.: A woman said she has a restraining order against her children's father. She has been told that he's on YouTube, slandering her.
