Police Log: Lightning Strikes Condo, Man Not Stealing His Own Bike
The following information was provided by the Milford Police Department. All arrests are reported. Charges do not indicate a conviction.

Sunday, July 7
12:39 a.m.: A caller reported loud music on Emmons Street.
1:30 a.m.: Riverside Community Services reported they had a man on the phone, crying and it appeared he had a bottle of pills. They could not get any information from him. The phone number he gave was a landline in Upton. Upton Police were contacted, but said that number was to a Riverside clinic in that town. The man also said he had been hit by a car that day. Upton Police contacted other police agencies, but no one had an incident like that.
1:52 a.m.: A caller on Chestnut Street said two men had knocked on her door and were looking for her neighbors. She said she told them the people lived upstairs, but was worried they were trying to break in. Police responded. The men were brothers of the neighbor and were concerned for his well-being.
5:55 a.m.: State Police reported a rollover crash on I-495 northbound near Route 109. One person refused treatment at the scene.
8:51 a.m.: Milford Regional Medical Center asked for assistance with a patient who had become violent during the night.
9:41 a.m.: An elderly woman at Burger King reported a man was attempting to steal a bike off a grey older sedan. Police responded and determined it was his bike and his car.
12:03 p.m.: State Police reported a crash on I-495 south before Exit 19. The crash was on the ramp, firefighters reported, with several people out walking around. At least one person was taken to Milford Regional Medical Center.
2:16 p.m.: Following a motor vehicle stop on East Main Street, police were seeking a summons to charge Marcos Carneiro, 52, of 9 Weld St., Apt. 2, Framingham, with operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license.
4:10 p.m.: A fireworks violation was reported at the Portuguese Club.
4:24 p.m.: Following a motor vehicle stop on Water Street, police were seeking a summons to charge Luis Antonio Guallpa, 24, of 25 High St., Milford, with operating a motor vehicle with a suspended registration, operating an uninsured vehicle and operating an unregistered motor vehicle. The Chevrolet van was towed.
4:58 p.m.: A caller on Zain Circle reported lighting had struck the house. She reported smoke in the house and the air conditioning unit. The fire department told her to get everyone out of the house.
5:25 p.m.: A caller on Water Street said fireworks were being set off near the Portuguese Club.
5:40 p.m.: A caller said a group of kids, about 15 to 16 years old, were writing on the walls of the Portuguese Club.
6:56 p.m.: A man cut his hand at Kmart and was bleeding heavily. He declined transportation to the hospital.
9:12 p.m.: A fireworks violation was reported on Central Street.
9:22 p.m.: A woman reported a restraining order violation between her husband and her daughter.
9:57 p.m.: A fireworks violation was reported on West Street.
10:24 p.m.: A fireworks violation was reported on Prentice Avenue.
11:46 p.m.: A woman on Carp Road said she had just come back from the weekend, and when she got home, noticed her sliding door was open, and she did not leave the house unlocked. It did not appear anything was missing, except her cat. She called back and said the neighbors were playing a joke on her and had taken her cat. She now had the cat back and did not need to talk to police.
Monday, July 8
1:37 a.m.: A caller said a group of four to eight youths were pool jumping into Casey Memorial Pool. The youths were gone when police arrived.
1:14 p.m.: A disturbance was reported at Milford National Bank. A caller said four men in a grey VW Golf were fighting with three men in an Eclipse. An officer reported this was an argument, not a fight, and the people had left.
