Police Log: Neighbor Confrontation Leads to Armed Assault Charge

The following information was provided by the Milford Police Department. All arrests are reported. Charges do not indicate a conviction.

Saturday, June 15

5:43 a.m.: The manager of the Kohl's plaza reported a man is continually hanging around the plaza, and business owners have been complaining. Police removed him and checked buildings to make sure everything was secure.

7:29 a.m.: A caller reported her husband's Honda Accord was broken into the previous night on Senate Road. His GPS and some vitamins were taken.

8:49 a.m.: A man asked to speak to an officer about a fraud.

8:53 a.m.: A caller on Fortune Boulevard said a driver was all over the road and tailgating another car. It took a right off East Main Street on to Fortune. Police could not locate the vehicle.

9:22 a.m.: State Police transferred a 911 call from Main Street to Milford Police. Although the caller was non-English speaking, an English-speaking child told police a man he did not know had hit his mother.

10:02 a.m.: A radio system was stolen from a locked car on Senate Road.

10:17 a.m. A woman walked in to police headquarters and said she had found some property by the cemetery on Cedar Street. Police responded, but the officer could not locate the property.

3:51 p.m.: A white dog was hit by a car on Ramble Road. The dog was not on a leash, running free. The owner took the dog to the veterinarian, although animal control was notified.

6:28 p.m.: A caller reported his 11-year-old daughter was being harassed online.

8:21 p.m.: A caller on Water Street said a man and a woman were yelling at each other, and said this had been going on all day. The caller called back to report they'd gone inside and quieted down.

8:58 p.m.: A man was reported to be on the ground outside Memorial Elementary School, and appeared to be drunk. An officer gave him a ride home.

9:01 p.m.: A man appeared to be intoxicated on Congress at West streets, police were told. Police could not find him.

9:59 p.m.: A woman fainted at then came to. An ambulance responded but she was not taken to the hospital.

11:18 p.m.: A woman walked in to police headquarters and said someone had violated a restraining order. Police called Northbridge Police for assistance, and were told the man is living in Florida. Police are seeking a summons to charge Tyler J. Lesco, 21, of 166 Providence St., Linwood, with violating an abuse prevention order.

Sunday, June 16

12:10 a.m.: Police received a noise complaint on Coolidge Road.

2:12 a.m.: Police were told a loud party on Water Street was making noise.

2:39 a.m.: An officer checked on a suspicious vehicle near Rosa's Villa Pizza. It was an employee working late.

2:49 a.m.: A caller on Oliver Street said a man was arguing with someone outside, and was possibly drunk. Police took a 24-year-old into protective custody.

7:06 a.m.: Wires were reported down on School Street.

9:50 a.m.: A caller on Bowdoin Drive told police someone had stolen his push mower, taken from an unlocked shed.

11:57 a.m.: A person walked in to police headquarters to report threats made by an ex boyfriend. She said he had been threatening her property and her well-being. The ex walked in about the same time. Police filed a report.

12:11 p.m.: A caller on Sunset Drive reported vandalism to cars by paint balls.

12:13 p.m.: A caller on Franklin Street said a woman, his ex-girlfriend, was outside screaming and banging on his windows.

1:27 p.m.: A woman on Walnut Street reported a fight with her neighbor. She said her upstairs neighbor bumped into her leading to a dispute between her husband and the neighbor. The caller said her husband went after the neighbor with a bat. Police responded and arrested Hamlet Peguero-Pena, 26, of 8 Walnut St., Apt. 201, Milford, on a charge of assault with a dangerous weapon.

2:35 p.m.: A caller reported a domestic in the area of Prospect Heights. Police spoke to person involved, and reported there was no problem, just a woman yelling at herself.

2:57 p.m.: A caller asked a police officer to meet him at Eva's Restaurant. He said his neighbors are harassing him.

3:15 p.m.: A caller told police people from a party on Yale Drive were speeding up and down the road on motorcycles.

5:06 p.m.: A caller said his car had been taken without permission by someone he knows. Police determined it was a miscommunication.

5:35 p.m.: Following a motor vehicle stop on Congress Street, police took a 22-year-old woman into protective custody. Police arrested Leonardo Barbosa, 23, of 168 Boston Post Rd., Apt. 8, Marlborough, on a charge of operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license.

5:39 p.m.: An employee of Bill's Pizza reported a man was outside the shop, panhandling people for money. The man was gone when police arrived.
