Police Log: Swan Parked on Sumner Street

The following information was provided by the Milford Police Department. Charges do not indicate a conviction.

Sunday, March 3

6:16 p.m.: A man walked in to police headquarters to report he had some items stolen from his car, on Senate Road.

7:10 p.m.: A caller on Cedar Street reported a young girl, about age 4, was running around the outside of a house in her pajamas. Police checked the road, all the way to the park, and found nothing wrong.

8:37 p.m.: A mother reported her son and girlfriend were fighting, when he hung up the phone. Police checked the well-being of both parties, and everyone was OK.

8:50 p.m.: Police received a report of suspicious activity at Burger King. A man with active warrants was walking in between Burger King and La Quinta Inn. Police could not locate him.

11:27 p.m.: Police received a report of suspicious activity at Doubletree by Hilton. A man was acting strangely, stating he was "on the run." Police responded and arrested Matthew Sean Keefe, 20, of 23 Depot St., Apt. 1, Milford, on two warrants.

Monday, March 4

3:19 a.m.: A caller reported a car had been running and unoccupied for about three hours on Medway Road, near 495 Rental Center. The car had a woman inside, and had a flat tire.

9:06 a.m.: A caller reported a large swan was in the middle of Sumner Street, near Benjamin Moore Paints, and was possibly injured. Police left messages with the animal control officer. Police slowly steered the swan out of the road and it entered the woods. The animal control officer later looked for the swan but could not locate it.
