Police Log: Woman Accidentally Throws Shoe at Man, Gets a Kick in Return

Wednesday, Aug. 14

6:29 p.m.: An officer returned several bags of clothing to a person in Mendon.

7:57 p.m.: An officer pulled over a Chevrolet Trailblazer on South Bow and Grove Streets. Police are seeking a summons to charge Christiano Silva, 35, of 16 Barclay Apt. 2, Worcester, with failure to drive in the right lane and operating a motor vehicle as an habitual traffic offender.

8:26 p.m.: A caller reported a Volvo was smoking from the hood at McDonald's on South Main Street, and she was concerned because the driver was getting into the car with a young child. Police could not locate the Volvo.

9:12 p.m.: A woman in the police headquarters lobby reported she was involved in a heated argument earlier, in which she accidentally threw a shoe at a man. And he then kicked her. Police filed a report.

9:32 p.m.: A caller asked police to check on the welfare of her 8-year-old grandson, because he is at home and his parents are drinking. Police checked and everyone was OK.

11:15 p.m.: A caller reported a continuing problem with loud music on Purdue Street. Police spoke to the person involved.

11:17 p.m.: A caller reported a bunch of kids in the lot at Milford High School were making a lot of noise.

11:27 p.m.: Suspicious activity was reported at Tedeschi. A caller said four men stole some items from the store and then took off in a black vehicle heading toward East Main Street. An officer said he couldn't confirm any items were taken. The act was not observed, only an assumption.

Thursday, Aug. 15

6:17 a.m: A man walked in and reported he was receiving harassing messages.

11:26 a.m.: Wayside services reported a possible restraining order violation. Police were seeking a summons to charge George E. Marotta, 49, of 164 Congress St., Milford, with violating an abuse prevention order.

11:56 a.m.: State Police reported a hit and run involving a vehicle registered to a Milford man. Police reported to his home and found a vehicle in the driveway with front end damage, a bent license plate and a small crack in the grill. All of the information was passed on to the State Police.

12:15 p.m.: Officers assisted the state Department of Children and Families with the possible removal of children from a home.

4:48 p.m.: A disturbance was reported at Milford Regional Medical Center. A man left on foot out of the emergency room before police arrived.
