Several Businesses Fail Alcohol Compliance Checks
A report to Milford Selectmen reveals several businesses sold alcohol to an under-age police operative.
Several bars, restaurants and convenience stores that sell alcohol violated alcohol laws in April, based on compliance checks performed by the Milford Police Department.
In letters to Milford Selectmen, Police Chief Thomas O'Loughlin related the following:
On April 19, a bartender at Legends Sports Bar in the hotel opened and served a Bud Light to an undercover operative sent in by police detectives. The bartender did not ask for ID.

Milford Package Store. On April 13, police sent a 20-year-old operative into the package store and the clerk sold him a six-back of Bud Light. The package store was among 16 checked for compliance.
Peter's Market. On April 13, the detectives sent the 20-year-old man into Peter's Market, where the clerk sold him a six-pack of Michelob Ultra Pomegranate Rasperry beer.

Peter's Market. On April 21, an officer responded to a report of an intoxicated man falling down outside Peter's Market. The man had started driving away and was operating erratically, the caller reported. Officer David Falvey observed the van at School and Spruce streets and stopped the vehicle. The operator was arrested on a charge of OUI liquor and operating without  a license. Police seized an open, 16-ounce can of Budweiser Light from the vehicle.Â
T.G.I. Friday's. On April 19 dectives and an undercover operative checked 19 restaurants with alcohol licenses. At 9:04 p.m., the undercover operative when into the TGI Friday and ordered a Bud Light bottle. The bartender opened and served the drink without asking for identification, and then began a tab.
