Water Bill In Milford Could Increase By Nearly 30 Percent
The Milford Water Company has filed for a general rate increase. A public meeting on the issue is being held in April.

MILFORD, MA—Milford residents could see an increase in their water bill for as much as 29.6 percent per quarter if a petition from Milford Water Company is fulfilled.
The company filed a petition on June 15, 2017, with the Department of Public Utilities for a general rate increase of $1,895,773, which represents an overall increase of 29.6 percent over the company’s currently effective rates. MWC last received a general rate increase in 2013, according to the announcement.
If the rate increase goes into effect, a typical residential customer using 2,000 cubic feet per quarter would see an increase of $34.35 per quarter, or 29.6 percent. The bill impacts would vary based on customer class and volume used.
