At Boston Marathon, Natick Service Council Duo Raise Nearly $13K
Paul Joseph is a marathon veteran while Julia Adelmann ran her first Boston Marathon this week. Together they raised $12,800.

NATICK, MA — The Natick Service Council is thrilled to announce that this year’s Boston Marathon team, featuring long-time Natick residents Paul Joseph and Julia Adelmann, completed the 128th Boston Marathon while raising $12,800+ to boost a variety of vital local services.
Paul Joseph, a former NSC Board Member, and Boston Marathon veteran, finished his 15th race with a net time of 04:52:54. He raised $6,429 for the Council.

“The generosity of not only community members but our friends and family from outside of Natick is a testament to the impact of running the Boston Marathon with a philanthropic purpose. Everyone knows how challenging it is, and they are eager to support organizations that we runners care deeply about. Neighbors helping neighbors is a universal appeal!” said Joseph.
Julia Adelmann ran her 1st Boston Marathon. She finished the race with a net time of 04:24:26 and raised $6,425 for the Council.

“It was a beautiful day filled with so much energy and support! Even though it was hot, all the cheers from family, friends, and spectators really got me through the race!” Adelmann remarked.
“Natick had one of the largest crowds, and I am so grateful I could run in support of the NSC.” she added.
“The Boston Marathon brings out the best in everyone - the runners, the sponsors, the spectators and the whole BAA organization. Our runners, Paul Joseph and Julia Adelmann, exemplified the type of person who takes on a marathon. Their grit, determination and preparation drove them to finish the race but also to raise an incredible amount of money for the Natick Service Council,” said Natick Service Council Director Dan Shea.
“Paul and Julia's race will feed hundreds of our neighbors this year. They are true Neighbors helping Neighbors in our community!” Shea added.
