Donate Thanksgiving Goods To Needy Families: Active Natick Teen Plans 'We Care Wednesday'

Donate at the Natick schools to families in need.

NATICK, MA—Now a sophomore at Natick High School, Joseph Holihan was named the Natick Ambassador for Project 351 in eighth grade. Project 351 chooses 8th grade students to build strength in communities through a passion for community service and others.

"My goal this year is to try an outreach program to get more younger people involved with kindness, compassion and service to others," said Holihan. Holihan is piloting a program with some of the Natick schools for "We Care Wednesday," with his first event coming up.

We Care Wednesday happens on Wednesday, Nov. 1, when there will be a collection of non perishable fruits and vegetables, stuffing, candles, napkins, dessert fixings and gift cards to local supermarkets. Help provide Thanksgiving items by dropping them off in the collection bin in the lobbies of the Johnson, Lilja, Memorial and Natick High schools from Oct. 30 to Friday, Nov. 3. All donations go to Family Promise Metrowest.

"We are honored to have Family Promise Metrowest chosen as the focus of the 'We Care Wednesday' November donation drive and impressed with the maturity with which you have organized this ongoing initiative," said Judy Mongiardo, network coordinator, in a statement. "Family Promise is a community response to family homelessness."
