Yesterday, Dean Cavaretta, State Senate candidate from the Middlesex and Worcester district, issued the following statement regarding Massachusetts suffering the biggest decline in the nation on CNBC's list of best states to do business in:
“CNBC's report yesterday is proof that one of the key issues that lawmakers in Massachusetts must address is how to make the state's economic climate one that is more friendly to small businesses. We need to create legislation that both encourages and, more importantly, allows for real job growth to take place, and I believe that the Middlesex and Worcester district can be a leader within our state. To achieve this end, it is imperative that someone represents the district with these issues in mind. While the district's needs are continuing to improve public education and the overall economy, my 2012 opponent continues to pursue a narrow policy agenda catered exclusively to the Special Interests.”

Yesterday’s news clearly shows how much work legislators have to do to help improve the state’s economy. Yet, Cavaretta's opponent continues to push for narrow legislation like attempting to overturn the Supreme Court’s decision in Citizens United.
Given the differences in legislative priorities between Mr. Cavaretta and Senator Eldridge, Mr. Cavaretta challenges Senator Eldridge to a series of debates focused on jobs and the economy.
