Natick PD Rush Injured Dog To Hospital After Pulling Over Owner

Thor was struck by two cars in front of his home in Holliston. His owner was rushing him to the hospital when he drove by a Natick cop.

NATICK, MA—On Nov. 30, Peter Rogaishio was rushing his near lifeless three-year old pup Thor to the animal hospital when Natick police pulled him over. He ignored the lights at first, but ultimately pulled over. His beloved dog had been hit by two cars in front of he and his wife Eunice's Holliston home during rush hour traffic, and he didn't have much time, if any.

Rogaishio decided to drive Thor himself when he realized waiting for Animal Control in such traffic could prove to be a choice between life an death for his beloved pup.

Natick police went to arrest Rogaishio for reckless driving when they pulled him over, but ultimately listened to him when he pleaded with them to realize why he was speeding. Thor was in the back seat and had lost a lot of blood. When Natick police saw this, they took Rogaishio's truck and rushed Thor to IVG MetroWest in Natick.

"A terrible night," Zais told Patch. "I had never met Peter before that night. I am an over the top animal lover. I had a premonition the night before that I was driving at night and came across a deer that had been hit. I remember sitting up in bed thinking, 'thank God that was a dream.' So the following night I was driving home from Medway. The only thing I was thinking about was the dream the night before. I was on my street when I saw the police directing traffic. I saw a man in the road. I thought, 'why aren’t they tending to the man?' Of course, I turned around. At first, I thought it was a person that was hit, then I thought it was a deer, then I saw that it was a dog. It was Thor."
