Natick Remembers Massachusetts Residents Lost To Overdose In 2017
Volunteers place 1,874 purple flags on the lawn of the church to represent those lost to overdose.

NATICK, MA—In recognition of International Opioid Awareness Day on Aug. 31, SOAR Natick (Supporting Outreach and Addiction Recovery) and The Journey (Natick Bereavement group) are presenting a purple flag display from Aug 24 through Sept. 1.
The event is sponsored by the Natick Opioid Task Force and is being hosted by the First Congregational Church in Natick, located at 2 East Central St.
Volunteers place 1,874 purple flags on the lawn of the church to represent the number of Massachusetts residents who died from an opioid overdose in the year 2017. There will also be seven red flags to represent the number of Natick residents who have died from an opioid overdose in 2017.
