Rescued Beagles From VA Envigo Facility Reconnected At Massachusetts Meetup
About 100 beagles rescued from Virginia's Envigo Medical Facility were brought to local shelters. Recently, they were reconnected in Natick.

NATICK, MA — When a dog is rescued from the shelter, it's often rare that they're reconnected with their canine family and friends made there. Luckily for a group of beagles, that wasn't the case.
These beagles are particularly special, as they were among the 4,000 beagles rescued in 2022 from Virginia's Envigo Medical Facility. Part of those 4,000 were roughly 100 dogs brought to Massachusetts shelters.
A portion of that group was reconnected recently through a dog meetup at Natick's FIDO Dog Park. WCVB originally shared news of the meetup, and video is included in their report, which can be found here.

In July 2022, MSPCA-Angell confirmed the Beagles brought to Massachusetts were part of the evacuation from the Virginia facility.
"We joined the Northeast Animal Shelter to take about 100 of these Beagles," MSCPA-Angell posted on social media. "Thanks to all of you for sharing our story."

The beagles were in high demand for those looking to adopt, with MSCPA officials stating that they received more than 800 requests for the 100 available beagles.
MPSCA-Angell said at the time of their arrival in Massachusetts that the dogs were living in confined and unsanitary conditions with little to no socialization. Two of the dogs were also pregnant at the time of the rescue and had since given birth — so the group included 13 newborn puppies.
