Natick Creates Fund to Honor Late Treasurer, Bob Palmer

The Robert A. Palmer fund for Professional Development will benefit town employees seeking higher education.

Natick's administrators have created a fund to honor Robert Palmer, the town's late Treasurer/Collector who died after an illness in June.

Funds raised will help the town provide higher education for public employees, an idea Palmer promoted while in office, according to Town Administrator, Martha White.

"This will fund the enhancement of employees' skills. If an employee is pursuing a bachelors degree for example," White said.

Donations can be delivered to the Selectmen’s office or the Comptroller’s office and should be made payable to the "Palmer Professional Development Fund."

"We hope that employees will contribute to it and we hope the general public will support it as well," White said.
